Our annual meeting for this year will be on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at the SCPFRC, AAFC, London , Ontario . For more information about this meeting, contact Kenneth Conn (see contact info below). Registration is due by October 31, 2008 . Presentations on November 22 will begin at 1:00 PM , followed by a poster session, and then a business meeting. The scientific meeting will be followed by a light buffet dinner at 5:00 PM . Speakers: Albert Tenuta (Field Crop Plant Pathologist, OMAFRA, Ridgetown , ON ) Janice LeBoeuf (Vegetable Crop Specialist, OMAFRA, Ridgetown , ON ) Dr. Mark Gijzen (SCPFRC, AAFC, London , ON ) – Root rot of soybean caused by Phytophthora sojae : pathogen effector proteins and virulence determinants. Poster session: Attendees are encouraged to bring both new and previously-presented posters. There will be a student poster competition with prizes. Abstracts of new poster presentations can be published in the Canadian Journal of Plant Pathology for an additional abstract publication fee of $35/poster. Abstracts should be prepared following the guidelines for publication in CJPP that can be found on the CPS website. Abstracts should be submitted to Kenneth Conn vial email by November 22, 2008 .
