2009 Annual Meeting of the Saskatchewan Regional Group The annual meeting of the Saskatchewan Regional Group of the Canadian Phytopathological Society will be held at Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada (Saskatoon Research Center) in the 2nd floor boardroom on December 3, 2009 starting from 9:30 am to 5.00 pm.The meeting will consist of a scientific session, followed by a short business meeting. All CPS members and those interested in plant disease issues are welcome to attend. This announcement is also a call for submission of abstract format for scientific papers/posters accompanied by abstract subsmission forms. Oral presentations should be kept to 12 minutes in length (plus 3 minutes for questions). Abstracts can be published in the Canadian Journal of Plant Pathology. Posters are also welcome, and will be presented during coffee breaks. This meeting is a good venue for graduate students to present their work, and we encourage all those interested to participate. Following the meeting, you are invited to attend an
evening social at a restaurant to be
determined. The cost will be somewhere
in the neighborhood of $15 - $20 per person.
Please feel free to invite your spouses, students and friends to a fun
evening.
Please respond by November 20 if you plan to attend the meeting and/or the social, and if you plan on giving a presentation. Please forward paper/poster titles and abstracts to Godfrey Chongo by November 20.
Saskatchewan Plant Disease Sub-Council Meeting The Plant Disease Sub-Council Meeting will be held on December 4, 2009 following the CPS-Saskatchewan Regional meeting. Members and non-members of the Saskatchewan Society are encouraged to attend this meeting as well. This meeting highlights current research projects on plant disease, research result updates, disease surveys e.t.c. in Saskatchewan.
